Charlene is a visual artist whose work centers on the luminous, tactile medium of encaustic painting. With many years of experience as a graphic designer, she brings a strong sense of composition, color, and structure to her intuitive encaustic process. Incorporating found and discarded materials into layered wax surfaces, her work reflects memory, everyday life, and the textures and rhythms of the natural landscape surrounding her studio near Owen Sound.
